Anger, isn’t always sinful.

In fact, it is an aspect of the character of God. God feels anger towards sin and even towards sinners. If we are to imitate God properly, then we must imitate all his character, not just the “softer” elements of who He is.

You might expect to look up what the bible says about anger and find that there are lots of prohibitions against anger period. However, what you find in most cases is that the bible warns against QUICKLY becoming angry or about being GIVEN to anger or about allowing anger to FESTER in your mind without quickly dealing with it. (Proverbs 15:18, Ephesians 4:26, Proverbs 22:24)

With every good thing there is a sinful and dark counterpart. Take the greatest goods of creation: sex, food, wealth, music…all things can be apprehended in a good, godly, proper way. Likewise, all of these things can be abused and perverted so that what God intended for a proper end is now bent towards a corrupt end.

Anger is no exception to this rule.
